'Connection' and Artists for Charity

Fri Nov 27, 2009, 3:03 AM

The print of 'Connection' has been donated to `ArtistsForCharity, a deviantART group which… donates money from prints to charity. Pretty straightforward.

They've plenty of other beautiful prints for sale, and all proceeds will go to a selected charity (currently the Autistic Self Advocacy Network), so go look around a bit. Good stuff.

Reminder: Prints on sale for three more days…

Tue Mar 31, 2009, 4:52 PM

Just a reminder my Imagekind prints are only on sale for three more days. That includes both the on-paper prints and the on-canvas prints, the little tiny eight-by-ten prints and the giant forty-eight-by-sixty-inch prints. It even includes the giant prints on paper types so fancy i can't pronounce them, like "Hahnemuhle Torchon" - actually, this is pretty much the only time you'll be able to get a massive hahnemuhle torchon print for under $100.

You can also have prints framed through Imagekind. I have no control over Imagekind's framing prices, so i can't put those on sale, but they've got more framing options than any sane person will ever need. Like, i'm seriously considering hiring a virtual framer so i'm not stuck with the default frame but don't need to tinker with it myself. That many.

Price Juggling, Sales and Un-Sales

Mon Mar 30, 2009, 4:42 PM

Here's the deal: I want to raise my prices in my Imagekind print shop. Lots of little reasons, most of which i don't think anyone really cares about, so i'll spare the long-winded details. Especially since it's not exactly a huge massive price increase. The cheap $9 prints are now $9.25.

But before i do that, i'm putting the whole shop on sale. So the $9-$9.25 prints are now $8.57. It's not a huge discount, but i literally can't make it any cheaper with Imagekind's markup system.

I'm also going to put stuff on sale more often. I haven't decided when the next shop-wide sale is going to happen, but i'm planning on putting new images up at a cheaper, sort of introductory price and leaving them that way for a week or so.

A few more notes on the sale:
  • The current shop-wide sale is only lasting until 3 April. Then it all goes up to the new pricing and the only sale images will be the new ones.

  • This is only happening on my Imagekind store. I sell prints through deviantART, too, but it's not nearly as easy to adjust the prices. I tried adjusting all my dA print prices a year or two ago and just about went blind. I'm not even sure i ever actually finished. Suffice to say i'm never changing a dA price again until the system gets a bit easier; what i put in when i upload the print is what it's staying at, dammit.

  • Imagekind pretty much always has some kind of promotion going on, whether it's for framing or shipping or prints on a certain type of paper. I'm rather ashamed to say i honestly don't know what their current promotion is, but i'll be sure to post the promotions whenever i not-so-subtly remind everyone which piece is on sale from now on.

New Blog: "How to Draw People"

Thu Aug 21, 2008, 11:52 PM

It's not all that new - i started up How to Draw People about two weeks ago - but i've been a bit slow to mention it on dA. Well, here it is. New blog, new demo, new humanoid-drawing awesomeness.

I am Cool. w00t.

Thu Jul 24, 2008, 2:53 PM
I'm not so shallow as to still be holding a grudge against everyone who ever teased me in elementary school. Nope. Not at all.

But i am shallow enough to be pumped when anything i do is considered even remotely cool by anyone. And "Watering the Garden" is on the Imagekind blog. Not just any post on the Imagekind blog, but the "Some of the Coolest Robot Art on Imagekind" post.

Hey, the coolest thing i ever did as a kid was carry around spare floppy disks in case anyone needed to borrow one. This is a step up :D
